Hello my Beauties,
how is your week going so far?
I have been asked several times to talk more about my own nail polish collection and to do more polish inspired posts.
As you know, i’m not quite a nail design artist here on the blogosphere, but in spite of everything i have a big heart for this community and enjoy finding new colors, textures & finishes.
And let’s be honest, probably every one of us has those special youtuber or blogger, who make us to crave more and more new goodies.
(Actually i’m not sure if i shouldn say “bank account damaging” instead of “craving”!)
In my case i will have to point over to Holly from Miss Holly Berries – who has a big talent of explaining her “Polishology” just like as it was a school subject, so at the end you aren’t left with any questions.
I should also mention Zenorah and PolishAlcoholic who had a major impact on my buying behavior.
If you go to their blogs you will know exactly what i mean.
So back to today’s topic. Most of the time i use to do my manicure ones a week and thanks to the right base and top coats it last’s for good 6 days.
Over the past week i seemed to be bored, so every time i sat down to watch a movie, i re-did my nails.
Let’s start with what i’m wearing right now.
I really wanted to try the combination of silver base with a silver/grey crackling top coat and i have to say i really like the result of the experiment. I used Catrice 300 Be my Millionaire & P2 crackling 020 silver blast.
What i used on my ring finger as you can tell is the Victoria’s Secret nail pop lacquer in To die For, which has a horrible drying hours. Yes i said hours.
Even few hours later i wasn’t exactly sure if it completely dried through and when i woke up this morning i had marks from my blanket on it. I don’t think i have ever been so disappointed in a nail polish. Especially not from a known brand like this. I have not tried other polishes by VS and really hope it was just bad luck picking this particular one. Let me know, if you had other experience than me and what you usually do, if your polish just doesn’t want to dry at all.
A few day’s ago a had Revlon’s nail art moon candy in 230 satellite on my nails and was very much surprised how much i liked the combination. Actually the dark base color isn’t something i wear too often. In fact this was the first time i used this particular one, while i had been wearing the fun top coat before over other polishes before.
My lovely friend Caroline from Style on the Side got this polish for me when we did a Summer Swap and i have been waiting for the fall season to start wearing it. Thank you Caroline, i’ve not been disappointed with the creamy texture and the finished look. The only complain i’d have would be the fact that it’s double-ended, makes it a bit more difficult to handle during the application. (Might be less handy for clumsier people.)
Exactly 7 days ago i have worn this dark forest green sand style polish in 090 opulent by the german drugstore brand P2. I hope you see the fact, that it’s textured on this picture. It’s almost a one-coater and it stays on your nails for many days.
If i had to pick, this would be my favorite of the 3 options shown today. Just because it’s so easy to apply and wear, as well as the fast drying power.
Because it’s obviously not that easy to get your hands on P2 polishes when you live outside of Germany, i suggest looking at Zoya ‘Chita’ that Zenorah talked about in her little review. It seems to have a very similar finish, even if the color itself might be slightly different.
That’s all for today. If you liked this kind of “What i’ve worn this week” post, please let me know in the comments below and i might be doing it again.
