as so many of you in the past few years, I’ve been curious about all the different korean cosmetic brands out there. That’s why I love getting samples and trial kits when possible, so I’m really able to test and get a true opinion on a product or a whole product line.
A little over 3 months ago I’ve purchased this nice Canola Honey Trial Kitby the brand Innisfree over at BeautynetKorea. It’s my go-to korean online store, in case you’re wondering. Every month they have a variety of set’s and samples, that you can test, before buying a full size product.
As we know, the usual sachets are great & handy for traveling, but you always need to get them in a pack of 10 or 20 in order to really understand the product. What caught my eye in this case, was that the trial kit came with 3 different products in a really nice size: 1) Canola Honey Serum 2) Canola Honey Cream 3) Canola Honey Jelly Mist Let me start right away with the product i liked the best in this kit – Canola Honey Serum. Source: BeautynetKorea Innisfree claims:
1. Honey radiance serum, creating delicate skin’s moisture protection barrier.
(Contains Canola honey 44.5%) 2. Delivering moisture deep into skin. 3. As it perfectly fits to the skin and it makes skin smooth and elastic. 4. Giving moisture to the dry skin.
The serum comes in a sleek 10ml tube (50ml full size), which is really hygienic in comparison to the cream jar, which I’m going to talk about in a moment. This mini size works just like any hand cream tube, however the full size come with a really useful pump. It’s a non-sticky gel formula, that absorbs really fast into the skin, leaving it with a light honey smell, which doesn’t bother my picky nose at all. It’s rather nice and refreshing.
The gel looks and feels a little thicker that a daily emulsion would, but is much lighter that a cream. I find that it gives my skin an almost instant smooth feeling and prepares it for further treatment. Usually i apply any serum right after washing my face and 10 min before my daily moisturizer.
The serum doesn’t need long until the complete absorption. Next product in the kit is my least favorite, as you can probably tell from looking at my pictures.
The cream contains Jeju canola honey flower and canola honey seed extract and comes in a 10 ml plastic jar (50 ml full size), which I’m really not a fan of, since i have to keep sticking my finger in it and everyone with longer nails will know exactly what I mean by that.
The formula is honey-like, sticky and rather heavy. It’s not the thickest cream I’ve ever tried, but somehow it takes ages to sink in and doesn’t absorb completely.
What I personally dislike is the strong sweet honey scent, that doesn’t go away even hours after application. Not that I’m totally against fragrances in my skin care, but this is definitely a no-go for me. Because of that reasons I was able to try the cream only 3 times in a row. After that my nose wasn’t supporting that experiment anymore.
If you have super dry flaky skin that really needs some major TLC, this cream might be something for you. Other than that I wouldn’t recommend this product.
Last but not least – Canola Honey Jelly Mist Source: BeautynetKorea
1. Honey radiance jelly mist, creating delicate skin’s moisture protection barrier. 2. Fine gel grains keep skin moist for long time. 3. Upon spraying on face, it fits to the skin delicately, evenly and thinly. 4. Giving moisture to the dry skin.
The Canola Honey Jelly Mist comes in a 20 ml spray bottle (80 ml full size) and has a nice light spraying power, so you don’t feel like being punched with the mist while spraying it. The formula is obviously a little thicker, than the regular mists. Great thing about this product, is that it can be used as any facial mist. Means – you can bring it with you anywhere and just spray it on for refreshment or just after taking your makeup off. It has the same honey scent, which is luckily not too heavy for my nose. What I find works best for me, is to combine the serum & jelly mist and use them as a two-step system. During summer that’s definitely enough hydration for me.
Canola honey works great against dull skin, so in order to have healthy glowy skin for the summer time, I’d really recommend trying the serum from this line. Great thing is, BeautynetKorea offers sample packs of 10 or 20 for about 4,50 & 6 USD on their site. This way you can test and see if it works for your skin type.
I will definitely be purchasing the Canola Honey Serum in full size very soon.
Have you tried any Innisfree skin care lately that you might want to recommend?
