Top Summer Essentials

Hello my Beauties,

As we are experiencing quite a hot summer here in Europe right now, it made me think of all the little things that make our life easier, fresher & prettier. Of course i’m talking about {summer essentials} – anything from beauty items, style & fashion.

Not only have i picked my most favorite go – to items this summer, but i also asked a few great beauty and style bloggers to show us their [Top Three Must Haves]
Here is what we came up with.

three top summer essentialsFirst of is my favorite statement piece of this summer – a beautiful triangle short necklace in fresh orangy coral, pale pink & white colors, with some golden details.
It’s from an accessory store called Bijou Brigitte. Somehow i’m pretty much drawn to geometric jewelry these days. It not only dresses up any plain outfit, but also gives me some of that edgy look. I mean, a girl can be edgy & classy at the same time, right?!

As i love combining peach & orange with different shades of blue, this gorgeous ‘miss louise turquoise‘ colour flash mascara by Essence has been my true friend for the past several weeks. Gives your neutral eye look a great pop of color. I call it: my cheap & cheerful mascara, since Essence is an affordable drugstore brand.

Last but not least is my handy little spray bottle of Thermal Water by Avene, that i keep in the fridge before going out. It’s a great tool to freshen up, when you’re on the go. Besides, as i’ve mentioned on my blog before, it’s a really multi-purpose product, since you can use it all over the body for anything like irritation, razor burn, simply to cool down, rashes, facial redness or light sunburn, just everywhere you need it.

If you want to stay updated about any new beauty & lifestyle products, keep an eye on my Instagram feed.

And now let’s find out what other bloggers have picked:

Hi Ladies! I’m Patricia.
I blog over at Patricia B in France and today I wanted to share with you some of my all-time favorite summer essentials.
Patricia in FranceFor starters, I absolutely adore wearing bright pink, orange, and coral polishes on my nails in the summer, but these colors tend to stain my natural nail. Up until recently, I’d had a really hard time finding that perfect base coat to prevent that from happening, but then the Nail Girls 3 in 1 Base/Top coat showed up in my Glossybox and turned out to be a real keeper. It keeps my nails from getting stained and makes my nail polish last for ages. Love it.

As for fashion, who doesn’t love a good pair of colored flats? I bought this pair from New Look during the sales, and they really make an outfit pop. Plus, they’re way comfy.

And last, but not least, Biafine burn cream. I’d heard about this cream before from a few beauty bloggers and living in France where this is readily available, I always have a tube on hand for small kitchen burns, but I didn’t realize how much of a life saver this was until this summer. About a week ago, all of the buses to and from my work stopped running in the middle of the day so that the Tour of France could pass.
That meant that I had to walk home (1.5 hours) in midday light. I burned to a crisp. My neck and chest were bright red and sore, so I slathered this on before going to bed and woke up with a tan. I don’t know how this works, but it’s almost like it just sucks the burn out.
If you burn easily in the summer, you need this in your medicine cabinet!

Angie from My So-Called Chaos here:

1. Dr.Jart+ Waterfuse BB Cream: This stuff is the bomb.com and I’ve totally replaced any need for base with it. Not only does it have sunscreen in it (a must for summer weather) but it feels so refreshing instead of making you feel weighed down by your coverage.  It also provides for a natural dewiness that skin is supposed to have, instead of looking like plastic.  It’s my favorite!

2. Baby Lips: Again with the sunscreen!  You need to protect your lips as well, and why not do it with a fun little shine and tint?  I LOVE Baby Lips and rarely go anywhere without one of them!

3. Okabashi Flip Flops: When my doctor told me I had to wear shoes all summer long (even in the house) due to needing support for my torn tendon-I was devastated.  I LOVE to be barefoot, and I love wearing as little shoe as possible (so flip flops) while I’m out and about.  Gotta show off that pedicure – am I right?  When looking for supportive shoes I found so many ugly ones out there that cost an arm and a leg, and then finally stumbled across these adorable Okabashi Women’s Maui Flip Flops!  They come in so many colors (I purchased the Jade and the Watermelon for myself) so not only do they match a bunch of different outfits, but they’re only $15-$19 a pair so they don’t break the bank!  Even if you don’t have foot problems, having your arch supported is fantastic, and these also massage your insole, are made from 100% recyclable product, are vegan friendly and healthy for you and the environment, and they guarantee them for 2 years!  I love it!

I recommend finding Miss Angie on Twitter & get to know her as a blogger. You sure wont regret it.

Hey everyone, this is Whitney from Macarons and Mischief.
I’ve been reading Luchessa’s blog since I started blogging in 2012 and I’m excited to be on here for my first time today! Vancouver consists of rain for 8 months so summer is THE season to get versatile with colourful makeup! However, it is equally important to stay hydrated (inside and out!) and wear your SPF! It’s so hard to choose my absolute top three favourites for the summer, but I have narrowed down to these three:
Macarons and Mischief2

During the summer, my skin can be dry and I get pink patches on my skin – which is why I really love the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. It’s extremely lightweight and it masks some pinkness in the face. Most importantly, it keeps my skin fresh and glowy through the day. Plus it has SPF 30, and you won’t get any of that chalky whiteness captured in a photograph!
Macarons and Mischief 1One of my favourite masks for this summer is the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel mask. It’s as refreshing as sipping a fizzy Coca Cola on a hot day. Even if I did a mask the previous day, I still put this one on whenever I feel the heat from the sun burning my skin.
Macarons and Mischief3I can’t leave the house without a good lippie and I’ve been addicted to Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Miami Fever. It’s big, bright, bold and fiery orange.  It’s neither a lipstick nor a gloss, it’s a wet formula that dries into a balmy texture and keeps my lips hydrated. Orange and blue are opposites, and I tend to gravitate to wear cobalt blue clothes when I wear this lip product.

Although I change things up in the summer, there are always those things that I just cannot live without. The first would be a great straw floppy hat. I bought this one last year and it has quickly become a major summer staple. This hat is perfect because it looks just as great with a pair of shorts as it does with a summer dress. It’s very light and therefore keeps my head cool when the sun is beating down. While I will always love a fedora, there’s something so glamorous about a floppy hat that I can’t resist wearing it.

The second item that’s a staple is a nude lipstick. Yes, it’s true that I do love my reds and they are always in my makeup bag, but in the summer, I like to keep it light. I’m trying to maintain a natural look with minimal makeup that plays up my features without being obvious. In the summer, a light pink is the ideal nude shade for me. Rouge Coco in Secret from Chanel always does the trick.

My third must have would have to be sunscreen. I do wear a protective layer on my skin year round, but I’m extra careful in the summer. The trick is to find one that is very light so I that I can’t feel it. UV Essentiel in SPF 30 from Chanel is my go to choice and I never leave home without it!
